Very good post. I am constantly concerned about quality of the products being manufactured at Mexico, Malaysia and especially China, given the headlines that we see every now and then. I also have personal experiences of appliances that break very easily after using 2 or 3 times. I am seeing more of that in the past few years in comparison to 5 or 10 years ago. I feel we should get smart about cutting costs by looking at the entire supply chain, just not down-stream, but up-stream as well and avoid cutting corners to save some pennies here and there, at the risk of a huge recall or loss of a big customer.

Just started reading your blog. Will read your other posts as time permits.
